Summer classes
Summer English and Debate courses
Summer is a great time for students to rest and relax, but it is also a critical period for enhancing academic skills. Reading and writing are indispensable parts of comprehensive development for K-12 students. These skills not only help them make academic progress but also cultivate lifelong abilities. They are crucial for both academic and personal development:
- Improve Language Skills
Reading and writing courses can significantly enhance students’ language abilities. Through systematic reading training, students can expand their vocabulary, understand complex sentence structures, and improve reading comprehension. Writing training helps students learn how to organize their thoughts, express their ideas clearly, and write structured and logical essays. - Cultivate Critical Thinking
Reading and writing are not just about improving language skills—they are also about developing critical thinking. While reading, students are exposed to a variety of perspectives and ideas, requiring them to analyze, compare, and evaluate. In writing, they must organize and present their own viewpoints in a logical and persuasive manner. Developing critical thinking has a profound impact on academic success and future careers. - Boost Academic Performance
Research shows a direct correlation between strong reading and writing skills and academic achievement. Whether in language arts, social sciences, or natural sciences, reading and writing are foundational skills. Summer courses help students reinforce and improve these abilities before the new school year begins, laying a solid foundation for future learning. - Build Confidence and a Sense of Achievement
In reading and writing classes, students can see their progress through continuous practice and feedback from teachers. This visible improvement fosters great confidence and a sense of accomplishment. Especially in writing, when students complete a thoughtful, insightful piece, the resulting pride is unmatched. - Enhance Communication Skills
Writing is a powerful communication tool. Through writing, students can better articulate their thoughts and ideas, engage in meaningful conversations, and collaborate with others—skills that are essential both personally and professionally. - Develop Creativity
Writing also stimulates creativity. Students can express their thoughts and emotions through stories, poems, essays, and other forms of writing, which fosters creative thinking and self-expression. - Prepare for the Future
Regardless of their future career paths, strong reading and writing skills are indispensable. From writing resumes and cover letters to preparing reports and giving presentations, these skills are critical. Summer courses help students get ahead in preparation for future academic and career pursuits.

Debate
The Debate course also consists of 10 lessons, aimed at helping students develop strong speaking and debate skills that will benefit their academic and professional futures. Students will learn how to research, craft, and present arguments on specific topics.
The course covers: public speaking and basic persuasion techniques, research skills and debate writing, presentation and introduction to competition formats, persuasive strategies, topic research, language drills and impromptu speaking practice, constructive feedback, essay writing, and actual debates. Advanced courses build on these foundations with more targeted content.
Students are encouraged to speak and debate as much as possible through various exercises to build confidence, refine language and tone, and ultimately express their ideas in an engaging and convincing manner.
